I am a special needs practitioner who is a NNEB Nursery Nurse and been working for over 20 years in the childcare field.
As well as being a Baby Massage Instructor I am Portage trained.
Portage is a home visiting
educational service for preschool children with additional support needs and their families. It is based on the common sense
principle that parents are the key figures in the care and development of their children.
Portage assesses the needs of young children with learning
difficulties and then, in partnership with parents, builds on the abilities the child already has to stimulate the development
of new skills. Portage offers a carefully structured yet flexible system to help parents become effective teachers of their
own children.
If your Portage sessions have finished because your child no longer meets your Portage services criteria or you just want
to boost the structured teaching your child is getting.
Please do get in touch. I will use my child care experiences
and the (EYFS) Early Years Foundation Stage and Portage Principles to support your child’s learning.
I am Makaton and BSL trained and use gestures and signs within my sessions.

Trained - regular home visiting; recommend
1hour a week
- supporting the development
of play, communication, relationships, and learning for young children within the family
Looking at the skills a child has
acquired, plus emerging skills (ones s/he is beginning to demonstrate), the special needs practitioner and parents decide on teaching objectives.
Each skill is broken down into small steps via a series of linked activities to stimulate the child's development. The
sessions are specifically designed to meet the needs of the individual child, and to enable him / her to learn as effectively
as other children. All children are able to learn. Building on abilities and strengths, rather than focusing on difficulties,
best supports their progress
Cost £25 -£35 per hour depending on location and traveling
